This piece is Based in a Kalyan Thaat based Raag called Yaman. This raag has always been very popular among the audiences. It is preferably sung between 6 to 9pm.
It's a Sampurna Jati Raag that contains all 7 notes. All the swars in the Raag are Shuddha except the Madhyam which is tivra.
The piece begins with a short introductory aalap in Raag yaman and progresses into a Madhyalay Bandish called "Guru Bina Kaise" with some sargams.
